Amethyst is a semi precious stone that ranges in color from mauve to lilac to deep purple. It is believed to bring stability, and ease the pain of grief and thought to bolster courage and foster intelligence. Royalty and Religious have used amethyst in there crowns and jewels for centuries. It is the Birthstone for February and considered to be the stone of faithful lovers. The nuggets vary in size and shape (approx 1" - 2 1/2" long) as they are mined in their natural form, then simply smoothed and polished. A hole is drilled at the top from side-to-side making a beautiful focal piece for any necklace, light pull or pocket stone.
